"Daniel Beltrá: The Amazon" Premieres at CEG!

Catherine Edelman Gallery is pleased to present "The Amazon," our third exhibition by Spanish born photographer Daniel Beltrá. The show opens March 13 and runs through April 25, 2020. There will be an opening reception with the artist in attendance on Friday, March 13, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Teens Respond to "Meditations in an Emergency" by Bettina von Zwehl

Teens from Sen High School visited Catherine Edelman Gallery to view Bettina von Zwehl's current exhibition "Meditations in an Emergency." The show includes seventeen portraits that honor the number of victims of the school shooting on Valentine's Day, 2018 in Parkland, Florida, and serve as a testament to the endurance and practice of protest and teen activism.

Art Speaks: New Formations

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to "Art Speaks" on Saturday, February 8! Special thanks to the writers who participated, including Susan Aurinko, Araxie Cass, Lorraine Harrell, Riva Lehrer, Abena Motaboli, and Katy Scrogin. Art Speaks is a new initiative that takes place on the second Saturday of every month, inviting local writers and poets to read pieces they have written based on the theme present in the exhibition on view.

"New Formations" Opens at CEG!

Catherine Edelman Gallery's newest exhibition "New Formations" is now on view! Thank you to everyone who came to the opening reception Friday, January 17, 2020. We had a great crowd with two of the artists in the exhibition joining us: local artist Aimée Beaubien and London-based artist Hannah Hughes! "New Formation" includes one-of-a-kind collages, painted photographs, a large-scale site-specific installation, and video works by Aimée Beaubien, Nicolás Combarro, Hannah Hughes, and Lilly Lulay. If you missed the opening, the exhibition will be on view through March 7, 2020.

Black + White Photography Magazine Features Jim Ferguson

In their January issue, Black + White Photography Magazine featured 15 photographs from Jim Ferguson's series Reconstructed Space. About this series, Jim says: "The Reconstructed Space series is all done in camera, but I try to create something unexpected and unfamiliar, unsettling our ideas of where something should be."
