Spotlight: A Tribute to Lynn Geesaman (b. 1938 - d. 2020)

CEG is thrilled to introduce Spotlight, a new online venture that provides our audience with a more engaging experience with our artists and their work. Every week we will launch an exhibition that includes work by a gallery artist, or a thematic show based on our inventory. With Spotlight, we aim to create a virtual experience for our followers, offering a new way to interact with our artists and the photographs we have at CEG.

Week at a Glance #1

To provide our audience with additional ways of engaging with our art and artists, we are introducing several new initiatives including Spotlight: Online Exhibitions, Work From Home: Inside the artist’s studio, and Hot Off the Press: Conversations about new work with gallery artists, among others. We are launching weekly posts that provide you with a look at what we will be discussing and sharing throughout the week. Each “week at a glance” will act as a homebase where you can refer to for links, resources, images, and more. Be sure to check in with us every Monday as well as throughout the week, as this is a growing resource that we will be adding to throughout the week.

New Series by Francesco Pergolesi

Francesco Pergolesi was born in Venice in 1975. After finishing his law degree, dedicated himself entirely to photography. Every single shot is a kind of a theater scene. His subjects are revealed in the lights and shadows reminiscent of Flemish paintings. In Pergolesi’s new series STARS, he creates environments that show women in scenes that are simultaneously normal and extraordinary.

Art Goes Digital: CEG Online Resources

Recently, our friends at Chicago Gallery News wrote an article discussing different ways audiences can engage with art digitally. Communities are social distancing due to safety concerns regarding CODIV-19. As people stay indoors, we are making an effort to create new digital content that allows our audience to get up close and personal with our exhibitions—even if they can’t see them in person at the moment.
