Introducing Alejandro Cartagena

Catherine Edelman Gallery is thrilled to welcome Alejandro Cartagena to our roster of artists! Alejandro Cartagena is a Mexican artist born in 1977 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He lives and works in Monterrey, in northeastern Mexico. His projects employ landscape and portraiture as a means to examine social, urban and environmental issues.

New Work by Clarissa Bonet!

In her series "City Space," Chicago-based photographer Clarissa Bonet explores aspects of the urban space in both a physical and psychological context. Interested in the physical space of the city and its emotional and psychological impact on the body, she uses the camera to transform the physical space into a psychological one, providing a personal interpretation of the urban landscape.

Next Art Speaks Will Feature All Young Writers - March 7

Catherine Edelman Gallery is honored to present this very special edition of Art Speaks, where high school age writers will be reading their work. Join us Saturday, March 7 to hear young writers read work on the themes found within our current exhibition "Bettina von Zwehl: Meditations in an Emergency." The exhibition features seventeen portraits, honoring the number of victims of the school shooting on Valentine's Day, 2018, and serve as a testament to the endurance and practice of protest and teen activism.

Catherine Edelman Gallery is pleased to present "The Amazon," our third exhibition by Spanish born photographer Daniel Beltrá. The show opens March 13 and runs through April 25, 2020. There will be an opening reception with the artist in attendance on Friday, March 13, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
