Hot Off The Press: Michael Koerner - Hibakusha

In this week's Hot Off The Press, Catherine Edelman speaks with Michael Koerner about his newest body of work "Hibakusha." This new series pays respect to those that passed away and those that survived the atomic bombings in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The work will be exhibited in an upcoming exhibition opening July 10.

CEG opens with two exhibitions July 10!

Catherine Edelman Gallery is excited to open its doors with two exhibitions: the first artist collaborative exhibition in its 32+ history, “Photography & _____,” and Michael Koerner: “Hibakusha: A tribute to the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings.” The shows open July 10 and run through September 4, 2020. To avoid crowds, the opening reception will be from noon – 8:00 pm on Friday, July 10.

Work From Home: Jeffrey Wolin

For this week's Work From Home, we hear from Jeffrey Wolin, who tells us about his portraits series of people experiencing homelessness. Wolin works with homeless organization in Chicago and L.A. to help him identify individuals to photograph who can give informed consent.

Patricia Voulgaris Discusses Her Practice

This week, artist Patricia Voulgaris gives us a glimpse into her studio practice. Her work is currently on view as part of our Ctrl+P, a project inspired by the hundreds of photographs we see on blogs and online galleries. Started in January 2011, Ctrl+P provides further exposure for new artists we find while searching the web, exhibiting a small selection of one person's work every two months, taking the pictures offline and putting them on the wall.

The Viewing Room: Kate Breakey

In this week's episode of The Viewing Room, Juli Lowe gives us an intimate look at the work of Kate Breakey. The artist's work includes orotones, a historical process where a photograph is made on glass and then backed with gold leaf, creating a luminous effect.
