Ludvig Perés

Perés

Because photography is a medium wholly tied to the visual objective world, I seek to push the objectivity of photography into nonobjectivity by abstracting our objective reality. I only leave primary geometric forms, reducing colors to black and white and using only light and lines to distort the space in which it resides. I do all of this in order to create a slate free from objective preconceptions, where, like a mirror reflecting our emotions, nothing but feelings can be perceived.

Originally from Sweden, Ludvig Perés currently lives in Chicago where, as of May 2020, he earned his BA in Photography at Columbia College Chicago. In the fall of 2018, his work was featured in the exhibition Fotografiska Talent 2018 at the Swedish Museum of Photography in Stockholm, and in the spring of 2019, his solo exhibit Klärobskyr opened at the Swedish American Museum in Chicago. In the fall of 2019, he was chosen to attend the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop XXXII in New York, where 100 emerging photojournalists from all over the world get chosen every year to meet and network with the top editors and photographers in the United States. He have since been part of another group exhibit named Lens 2020 in Evanston, Chicago, and has opened a solo exhibit titled 0.30.
