In 2020, we launched three new video series' to provide our audience with additional ways of engaging with our art and artists, including Hot Off the Press, Work From Home: Inside the Artist's Studio, and The Viewing Room. In Hot Off The Press, we have conversations with our photographers about their new work. In Work From Home, our photographers give us a glimpse inside their studio, answering three questions about their studio practice and how they stay motivated. The Viewing Room takes you inside our gallery's viewing room and as we flip through new photographs by gallery artists, giving you an intimate look at the physical prints.
In an attempt to understand why artists create the work they make, we decided to launch Artist Talks in September of 2008, a video series which allows the viewer to hear, from the artist, the reasons behind making each piece on exhibit. In 2002, we produced What Were You Thinking, a 15 year catalog which asked artists to write a statement explaining the thought process behind making a specific photograph. Artist Talks continues our commitment to understanding the creative process through the words of the photographer. We hope collectors, curators and the general public will gain a better understanding about each piece on exhibit and the artist in general.
Chat Room is a web series featuring Catherine Edelman in discussion with curators, artists and industry professionals. Edelman talks about artists, trends, the politics of the business and offers the public an inside view about what goes on in the gallery and museum worlds. View our Chat Room series here.
