At first glance, Adriene Veninger's photographs of leaves seem simple -- single sepia toned leaves photographed on a white back drop, void of the environment from which they came. But a careful look reveals the many personalities and attitudes each leaf possesses, not unlike people at various stages between wake and sleep. Sparse yet elegant, Veninger's leaves appear in degrees of decay, from a single hole pierced by the tooth of an insect to edges burned by the sun. These are leaves which dance while they lay still, appearing to float above and below an unknown source. Size and Prices |
