Pete Jacobs

Jacobs

Pete Jacobs lives and works in Chicago. Born and raised in New Haven, CT, he attended Wesleyan University, graduating with a B.A. in English Literature. A published poet, he has received, among other awards, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. He has worn many hats over the years as a self-starting entrepreneur: busboy, window washer, bagel maker, antiques dealer, jewelry seller, and commercial real estate broker.

As a photographic artist and a painter, he strives to imbue his work with humanism. His multi-panel Tableaux series transforms the mundane--a tightrope walker, a laughing woman, an assault weapon, a collection of prosthetic eyes--into a strange and illuminating melding of color fields and ghostly underlying digital imagery.

All images are available as [4] 8 x 10” ChromoLuxe prints in an edition of 7 + 2 APs for $1800 framed.
